Kayla Shupe
Excel Day Program Coordinator | Warsaw
Growing up in Desert Hot Springs, California, Kayla moved out to Missouri in 2019. Kayla quickly fell in love with the lush forests, as well as the slower paced lifestyle; having to adjust from the desert mountains, dry heat, and ever-changing city life. Previously having been partial to hiking the dry terrain of southern California, Kayla grew passionate about hiking the woods, fishing, bonfires, botany, and watching fireflies along the tree line. She has also always had a fascination with human psychology, as it pertains to the functions and actions of the brain and body. When she stumbled into her starting position as a Direct Support Professional, in 2023, she was unaware of the impact Restoring Hope would have on her. What started as a job, rapidly became a mission of "How many lives can we change today?" Working alongside people who were eager to grow allowed for growth in both parties.
Fast forward a year and a half: Kayla eagerly takes on a new role as Program Coordinator over the Warsaw Excel Day Program. A role in which she continues to enjoy building connections and changing lives.
